Nanci's Notes Where Your Health Matters In the next few months I will share with you some "babysteps" toward a healthier lifestyle. Each segment will highlight at least two things you can begin to incorporate into your life. Our health is dependant on wholeness and our ability to find a balance amidst the demands of daily living. With that in mind please follow the links to the two critical things on the road to good health: the benefits of water and how to read nutritional labels. First, water, is vital to good health, (purified water that is). It is recommended that we drink 8-10 8oz glasses of water daily. Water cleanses the body of toxins and helps the largest organ of the body, the skin. Water also helps fiber do its job in our system. So on your way to better health drink more water. Here's a quick suggestion : Fill a pitcher or bottle and keep track of how much water you actually drink. You may be surprised - drink more! Secondly, labels can be deceiving. Take an extra few minutes while shopping at the grocery store to pay attention to the labels to see exactly what you are feeding your family. New label restrictions will help you understand the nutritional content of the products you purchase. So, drink up, read on, and may good health be with you. |
